Always running behind!

Girls in Galveston, TX
Playing Street Music!
Family!

I am trying to do better but as usual it has been a month! We had a great time at the beach the first week in August ( all 30 of us and the hurricane hit while we were there!) and school is off with a bang! I am teaching dance full time and it is soooooo much fun! It is the easiest job and the toughest I have ever had! It is a lot less work than regular classroom but as much moving around that much and teaching choreography to Kindergarten is a real work out! (No wonder I have lost over 6 lbs in 3 weeks!) I will be in charge of a 250 kid cast that does a full blown production of the Nutcracker in December so remember to keep me in your prayers.

Jenna loves her school and is learning so much. She has even learned to spell her name in the last 2 weeks! Remember she just turned 2 in May!

Another month has passed

So yet another month has passed since I wrote. I have spent many hours laying in the sun, traveling, and having fun! I have spent the most hours picking blackberries on our farm. It has been loads of summer fun! Oh and by they way, I finally got a tattoo!

Catching up!

Okay, so I am such a loser at keeping up with this thing and even worse at reading other peoples but I am going to try to do better this summer.

First of all, let me catch everyone up on the last few weeks in April. Some of you have been reading my blog enough to know that I have a 2 first cousins that I had never met. Well, for some not so great reasons, I did get to meet them in April and I couldn't have asked for more. There are wonderful and a testament to their mother and how she raised them. I can't wait to see them again, it was amazing to make the connections that were so obviously family traits (like the fact we are all horrible spellers! LOL!). ANYWAY, happy birthday Tabby!

The month of May was a GIANT blur! BUT, I did get the results of my test and it is official, I will be teaching DANCE, 5 HOURS A DAY NEXT YEAR! No class room teaching, just dance!

Then last week the kids came to stay and what a great time we had. Here are a few splish splash pictures!

Giddy-up Cowboy!

We had Jenna's second birthday party this weekend (her real birthday is Mothers Day)! It was a "farmtastic" time, as my daughter is obsessed with Farm animals! She gets that from her Dad!

Wall Paper! Shmall Paper!!

Okay first of all let me start by telling Donna I got my tree down on Saturday morning! Christmas has know left the building!
Second of all, there is never an easy way out! If you haven't heard me talk about it by now, we have a little work at our house. We got beautiful land but the house is a "fixer upper!" We have what I have affectionately named the "Ugly" room. This room has the ugliest wall paper (I am not sure that it isn't just contact paper)and ALL of the old wood trim is painted sky blue! So I have put this room off and put it off. I decided to strip the wall paper, not working. So I got the bright idea to put new wall paper up, that looks like faux finish, over the old stuff. So that lead me to the following:
Shawna's list of how NOT to install wall paper!

1. One does not need the help of ones 20 month old, though she did look cute with the putty knife trying to get rid of air bubbles like Mommy.
2. IF you do not need the help of your 20 month old, make sure your husband isn't engrossed in the football game.
3. DO NOT leave said 20 month old in the bathroom with a tub of warm wall paper water and a piece of bread (no explanation needed!).
4. Do not hang wall paper around the boxes and furniture that you haven't put away yet.
5. Maybe a ladder would work better than a bar stool!

So, professional wall paper installer will never be listed on my resume and when I get it finished I will post pictures. Until then, enjoy the following pictures.

What I wouldn't give for a snow day just to get caught up!

The Cotton Bowl!

Between Christmas and New Years we had a chance to go with 2 of our BEST friends to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. All of you who know me, know that I do not care for football and I LOVE the bowl games because that means football season is coming to an end! Well, we got the chance to spend 3 days in Dallas with Ryan and Dawndy and even though football was involved, I had a great time. I can say one thing for sure, Dallas has some GRRRRRRRRRREAT outlet malls!

Jason also got a new bass boat that I will post pictures of soon! Until then, enjoy the pictures I stole from Dawdy's blog!
